The Nike Blue Ribbon SB — otherwise referred to as the BRSB — is the
line-up’s newest model, sporting a design that borrows cues from the
Cortez.
INSPIRED BY AN ICON. A familiar favorite is reborn in
the Nike BRSB. Almost every detail, from the color blocking to the
sawtooth pattern on the sole, was inspired by the original Nike Cortez.
But, because this shoe is built for skate, we added extras where they're
needed-like the rubber from the sole that wraps up and over the heel
and toe for durability. It also wraps the sides, adding an extra layer
to high-use areas, like the ollie zone.
Sitting atop a React-cushioned sole, the upper alternates between
both suede and nylon, the materials clad in various shades of white. White
laces and tongues sit between, leading up to a relatively standard
tongue label, which displays the model’s name as well as a classic Nike
SB hit. Red leathers cut through, then, cut through the darker backdrop, taking the shape of the Swoosh and heel tab.
